“Someone once told me the definition of hell: the last day you have on earth, the person you became will meet the person you could have become.”
It is somehow the most motivational and also the scariest thing I have ever read in a quote and maybe it feels the same for you too.
Still, a lot of people get lazy very easily. Sometimes they settle for less than they could truly achieve in life (I am guilty for that as well).
They try something and when it gets to hard they might say to themselves:
“Well, why all the struggle, I mean, I am quite OK where I am at? There are other people worse off than I am, I should be more happy with my life!”.
Although this might be true to some degree, this attitude will not help you to achieve greatness. It will guarantee you a good and warm place right above the average person next to you. But if you want to have more and get really everything out of life, what life has to offer, you have to work your ass off!
It says, you cannot climb the ladder of success with your hands in the pocket. And it is true.
But what everybody needs is a strive to do so, something that will motivate them to break through any obstacle that will present itself in front of them.
Most of the people don’t have something like this and that is the reason why – as soon as the initial euphoria passes and they face some “challenges” – they go back to their basic routines.
Don’t let this be you. Whatever you set out to achieve, before you start, write down every aspect of why TRULY want to achieve this.
- What will it give you?
- Why do you need this?
- What will it allow you to do in the future?
- How will you feel about yourself after reaching your goal?
- Why is that so?
Go very deep!
This should take you at least 10 minutes or more. It should force you to find your main purpose for this endeavour.
At first you might get very superficial reasons like “I want to have more money, because I could buy a new car” or something.
But when you ask “why?” multiple times, it forces you to ask yourself why you TRULY want it.
Dig deep and find your reason.
When you have a crystal clear reason why you want to do something, NOTHING can stop you!
